▲ 김해시, 인도문화교류위원회 대표단 접견

[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시가 인도문화교류위원회(ICCR) 대표단과 만나 한·인도 문화교류 확대와 문화유산 협력 방안을 논의했다.

신대호 김해시 부시장은 지난 25일 마니샤 스와미 인도문화교류위원회(ICCR) 부사무총장을 비롯한 인도 문화기관 관계자들을 접견하고 양국 문화교류 활성화 방안에 대해 의견을 교환했다.

신 부시장은 그동안 김해시와 인도의 문화교류를 지원해 온 ICCR에 감사를 전하며, 지난 4월 한·인도 정상회담에서 논의된 문화협력 과제를 지방정부 차원에서도 확대해 나가겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다. 또한 ICCR과 주한인도문화원과의 협력도 지속 강화해 나가겠다고 말했다.

대표단은 김해시 방문 기간 인도 관련 소장 유물의 역사적 가치를 평가하고, 불암동 허왕후기념공원에 조성 중인 '김해인도문화교류관'의 소장품 보존·관리 및 전시 운영 방안도 시와 협의한다.

이번 대표단에는 마니샤 스와미 ICCR 부사무총장과 임슨나로 월링 주한인도문화원장, 모우미타 고시 인도 비하르박물관 부관장, 아비라 바타차리야 인도 국립박물관 부학예연구관 등이 참석했다.

Gimhae City met with a delegation from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) to discuss ways to expand cultural exchanges between Korea and India and to cooperate on cultural heritage.

On the 25th, Gimhae Vice Mayor Shin Dae-ho met with officials from Indian cultural institutions, including Manisha Swami, Deputy Secretary General of the ICCR, and exchanged views on ways to revitalize cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Vice Mayor Shin expressed gratitude to the ICCR for supporting cultural exchanges between Gimhae City and India, and stated his intention to expand the cultural cooperation initiatives discussed at the Korea-India Summit last April at the local government level. He also said that he would continue to strengthen cooperation between the ICCR and the Indian Cultural Centre in Korea.

During their visit to Gimhae City, the delegation will evaluate the historical value of artifacts related to India in the collection and discuss with the city plans for the preservation, management, and exhibition operation of the collection at the 'Gimhae Indian Cultural Exchange Center,' currently under construction at Queen Heo Hwang-hu Memorial Park in Buram-dong.

The delegation included Manisha Swami, Deputy Secretary General of the ICCR; Imsunnaroh Whirling, Director of the Indian Cultural Centre in Korea; Moumita Ghosh, Deputy Director of the Bihar Museum in India; and Abira Bhattacharya, Deputy Curator of the National Museum of India.
